ENSIFERUM's SAMI HINKKA To Miss This Weekend's Festival Shows
August 13, 2013Sami Hinkka (bass, clean vocals) of Finnish folk metallers ENSIFERUM has released the following statement:
"I'm really sorry to inform that due to personal reasons, I can't make it to Summer Breeze and Rockstad: Falun festivals next weekend. But fear not! Mr. Jukka-Pekka Miettinen has kindly promised to jump in my sweaty battle boots for those two shows.
"Nothing is wrong with me, but sometimes in life, schedules simply clash and even though ENSIFERUM's music is full of magic and mayhem, we still haven't figured out how to be in two places at the same time.
"See you all at Heidenfest!"
ENSIFERUM recently forged a deal with Metal Blade Records. The band signed the agreement with Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel during the Paganfest USA tour, and all parties are enthusiastic about new music and new possibilities.
Commented Hinkka: "We are really looking forward to our co-operation with such a great and legendary label as Metal Blade. The next full-length album should be out in early 2015. We have already started working with the new songs and it's obvious that the next album will be another step ahead for ENSIFERUM. And now that we have united forces with mighty Metal Blade nothing can stop us! The next album is going to be something that will rock the very foundations of folk metal genre."
ENSIFERUM's most recent album, "Unsung Heroes", was released on August 27, 2012 via Spinefarm. The CD was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, SENTENCED) at Petrax studio (CHILDREN OF BODOM, NIGHTWISH) in Hollola, Finland and other locations in the Hämeenlinna area.
